The New concert hall in Uppsala
Akustikon is planning the acoustics in the new concert-and congress house in Uppsala together with Gade & Mortensen Akustikk from Denmark. The collaboration comes in handy as the house is designed by Henning Larsen Tegnestue in Copenhagen.

Akustikon is also responsible for the planning of AV and theatre technique. In the latter sense we are collaborating with theatre consultant Dick Hasselblad.

Visby Congress- and Concert house

Akustikon is planning the acoustics in the new congress-and concert house by order of Lund & Valentin Arkitekter, who designed the arcitecture of the house. The hall can take 1000 persons and it will be possible to divide the hall into three separate sections, wich in itself is an acoustical challenge.

Concert hall for the Royal Music Academy
Akustikon has together with Lund & Valentin Arkitekter planned a smaller concert hall with unique acoustical qualities. The Royal Music Academy has given parallell assignments to four architects to design a new building for the M
usic Academy, in wich the concert hall is one part of the requirements.

Reconstructions of orchestra pits in Stockholm and Malmö
Kungliga Operan in Stockholm as well as the Opera in Malmö will be making reconstructions in their orchestra pits to improve the acoustical surroundings among other things. In Stockholm akustikon is designing
a new ventilated floor with acoustically favourable qualities. In Malmö the listening on the podium needs to be improved and also at the same time lower the soundlevel.

New opera house in Oslo
The planning of the new National Opera in Oslo, Norway, began in the autumn of 2000. Akustikon is involved in the contraction of the mechanical stage equipment, and also as advisor in the acoustics reference group. The opera house will have a main stage with approximately 1,400 seats, a second stage with approximately 400 seats, a recording studio, rehearsal rooms, workshops, and all the other usual components of an opera house. The planning will take several years, and the opera house is expected to be ready in 2008. Read more at the website of the Norwegian Directorate of Public Construction and Property (Statsbygg).

  Navet, Kungälv
Another gymnasium is built with ambitious halls for art, music and drama. It contains, among other things, a hall for about 400 persons. The gymnasium also have a school with a musical bent, therefore the design of the hall will be more concentrated towards theatre and musicals.

Continuous success for the new concert house in Västerås
This hall was opened in September 2002 and has been very much appreciated by the listeners in the auditorium as well as the musicians on the stage. Recording engineers also praise it for the acoustics. It was constructed and built in a short time with very small expenses, yet it turned out to become one of the best concert halls in Scandinavia. There are 917 seats and the size of the stage is 200 m2. The hall is one of the few music halls in the world that really works for all different kinds of music, partly because of the acoustical flexibility, including stage reflectors that are adjustable in height and 220 doors into diffusing chambers. The doors can be rotated and will work as diffusing elements and behind them curtains can be withdrawn to increase the damping effect. The building also holds a small hall for chamber music, jazz etc. Also this hall has become a success thanks to its acoustics.

Continuous success for the concert house in Vara
The big staking in the small community Vara has been a great success in every way. The house can manage all possible events and during spring it's studded with famous artists like Gothenburg Symphony orchestra, Jill Jonsson and Alica Babs e.t.c

Vara community has made a big stake on this concert house for 600 persons, this is unique for a small community like Vara. The house also have halls for art, music and drama in the gymnasium. The house opened in september 2003.
